Same Day Implants Las Vegas

Same day dental implants in Las Vegas are an option whether you want to replace one tooth, multiple teeth, or all of your teeth.

When most people decide to get dental implants, their dentist will refer them to an outside prosthodontist or oral surgeon, send their orders to outside laboratories, and refer them to outside CT scan or X-ray facilities. Going to all these outside offices requires patients to travel to various locations, which means getting dental implants can take weeks.

Temporary dental fixes

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed in your jaw bone. An abutment is a connector that is added on top of the implant. The crown, which looks and functions like a real tooth, is secured on top of the abutment. Only the crown is visible above the gumline.

A single tooth implant can usually be placed in the jaw in about 30 minutes, multiple tooth implants can take an hour or more, and a full jaw of implants can take 2-3 hours. After the implant is placed in your jaw, you will be fitted with a temporary tooth specifically created for you by our in-house lab. Why is the temporary tooth necessary? Your jaw needs time to heal before the abutment and the crown are connected to the dental implant.

Our lab is also able to create a new set of temporary teeth if you’re getting a full jaw of implants (All-on-4). The bottom line is you will leave our office with a full smile without gaps in your teeth. We will also give you some food guidelines on what to eat and avoid during the healing time.

Usually it takes about six months for your gum to heal before we screw on the abutment and the crown, which serve as your permanent false tooth. If you are getting a full jaw of implants, the healing process normally takes about 8 months. Your healing time may be shorter, or longer, based on the health of your gums.

There are some patients who may need some bone grafting to build up their jaw bone before they can get an implant. We can tell you very quickly, after running tests, if your implant will take longer than a day. If needed, our oral surgeon can perform the bone graft in our office.
